Phil taught at Tates Creek High School and coached football, wrestling, and tennis, and his teams won six state championships. During this time he was also a college basketball referee for the Southeastern, Metro, Southwest, and Ohio Valley Conferences.

Greer formed a real estate partnership.

Dunn Greer Realtors was started.

September 1988 Greer Companies begins.
1989
August 1989 1st Shoney's opens.

First Fazoli's is built in Prestonsburg, Kentucky.
1996
First Cheddar's is built in Lexington, Kentucky
on Tates Creek. -
2002
Lee Greer joins the company.
2008
Cathy celebrates her 20th anniversary.

100th Cheddar's location opens in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Company breaks 100 million in annual sales.
2012
Greer Companies 30th location opens
in Beckley, West Virginia.

And we come from hard working people who tended gardens, canned vegetables, and made fresh, delicious food from recipes passed down over generations.
Our Mint Julep Restaurants group makes everything from scratch. It's not just our food philosophy, it's the way we approach the world. From the design of our restaurants, to the chefs and prep cooks that craft fresh, delicious homemade and handmade food, to the servers and managers who make your enjoyment their mission. Our restaurants include three unique and world class independent concepts - Coba Cocina, Cobar Cantina, and Cocoh! Confectioner - in Lexington, KY, as well as 35 Cheddar's Casual Cafés in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, West Virginia, and North Carolina.
